Dawn, Owner of The Curtain Cabin started the business in 2008, having had a wealth of practical experience in designing, making, fitting and marketing soft furnishings since 1989. She initially set up business from home, carrying out work for a number of design studios in the Bournemouth area. Since then, Dawn has expanded her clientele across a wide geographical area, extending into Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, with some clients further afield. Dawn has valuable experience with a wide range of property types and architectural designs, from regular estate properties to large stately homes, multi-million pound residences in Sandbanks, Poole and hotels including the Southampton Harbour Hotel. Dawn maintains a fully ‘hands on’ approach to the business, from initial advice to those valuable finishing touches, and at all times seeks to maintain a very high standard of quality control and customer care.
Steve has been working with Dawn since the business began in 2008 and prides himself on his attention to detail. He is a clean and tidy worker with extensive experience in fitting blinds, curtain poles, tracks, even in the most challenging situations. Steve prides himself to ensure that every job is completed to a high standard.
Paul has joined our team, prioritising in installing blinds, poles and curtains. He takes pride in his work and adheres to our high standands. He is very friendly and helpful and will give good advise on appointments. Previously trained as a Paramedic, Paul is in charge of all our Health and Safety matters.
Julie is our contracts manager, who is not only efficient, but hardworking and pays attention to detail. She co-ordinates our larger business, incorporating hotel projects. Julie works closely with our fitter, Steve and gives every fitting that finishing touch.
Paula is often the first point of contact with our customers, bringing her skills to our friendly team with her personable character, extensive local knowledge and her organised, efficient and reliable approach to customer care. Paula ensures the smooth running of the showroom as well as organising fittings for our local customers.
Frances is a tremendous asset to the Curtain Cabin. She has a flair for design and colour and will help you in choosing the right design for your look. Frances has an in-depth knowledge of the fabric books and creates the lovely displays in our showroom. Her attention to detail will help you in achieving your desired soft furnishing look.
Alison works on a part time basis in the showroom and will help our customers to choose fabrics and designs. Having studied at University to make shoes and handbags she is particularly talented when making more complicated items such as box cushions.
We also have a dedicated team of workers who make our products to the highest standard and assist with a number of other roles. They are well known to Dawn and have been selected for their reliability, skill and the pride they take in their work.
